Lecturers and topics:

Masza Makarowa Medical Education in the Warsaw Ghetto: The Example of Luba Bielicka-Blum
Luba Bielicka-Blum directed the only nursing school allowed in the Warsaw Ghetto, training students under harsh conditions. She saved her children from deportation to Treblinka and survived a Nazi raid that killed her hospital’s patients. Her husband, a leader in the Ghetto Uprising, was later captured and killed. Luba and her children survived in hiding and were reunited after Warsaw's liberation.

Dr. Mariusz Jastrząb Stefania Wilczyńska: Her Life and Legacy
Stefania Wilczyńska chose to accompany the Jewish orphanage she helped run into the Warsaw Ghetto, refusing opportunities to escape. In August 1942, she was deported to Treblinka along with Dr. Janusz Korczak, the staff, and the children—choosing to remain with them until the end.

Tami Kinberg Drawing Hope: Friedl Dicker-Brandeis and the Children of Terezín
Deported to Terezín in 1942, Friedl Dicker-Brandeis used art to support and educate children in the ghetto, offering them emotional expression and dignity through creativity. She organized secret classes, insisting each child sign their artwork. In 1944, she was deported to Auschwitz, where she was murdered. Before leaving, she entrusted over 4,500 children's drawings to be preserved—leaving behind a powerful legacy of resilience and hope.

This event is designed for scholars, educators, and students in the fields of Holocaust studies, education, memory studies, Jewish history, and related disciplines.
